Orange Party 2010

Going to the Orange Party at church (Ansley and her friend, Meg)
Elisabeth and Caleb
Meg and Ansley
Heading into the fellowship hall for games and entertainment.  Yeah.....that's me in blue.  I don't own any orange.  It's not really my color.
We saw lots of funny hats  :-)
They had a juggler there.  He was incredible.  Very talented!

Last Friday night we had the annual Orange party at church.  Red and Yellow make orange.  Yellow is the church and Red is the family.   We need to work together to teach our kids about God.  It's not just the responsibility of the church.  Working together creates Orange.  Get it?  :-)

Company picnic

Recently Insite (our company) hosted a picnic for all the employees and their families.  We had it at the Greenway and it was alot of fun.  The weather cooperated beautifully by giving us a cloudy overcast and cooler day so we didn't sweat to death!  We had good barbeque, mac and cheese and banana pudding. YUM!  Each family submitted baby pictures of themselves and we had a game where we had to guess who was who.  Sounds easy but it was a hard game!  Fun but hard.   All in all it was a good time and I think everyone enjoyed it!

The pavilion at The Greenway.  I love the Greenway!

The Butterfly Whisperer

Ansley has been trying all summer to get a "wild" butterfly to land on her finger.  It's nearly impossible.  But the other day we had 2 big beautiful butterflies on our lantana plants on the front porch.   She tried and tried and was eventually able to get them to land on her finger (with the help of some sugar water on her finger).  Just call her the butterfly whisperer.....

First Day of School!

Ansley and Elisabeth both started a new school today.  They were both very excited. Both of their teachers seem to be very nice and hopefully both will have a good school year this year.   Ansley was so excited she had a hard time falling asleep last night and then she woke up early this morning before her alarm clock ever went off.  It was a smooth morning and we got to the school in plenty of time.  We met up with Ansley's friend, Ainsley, and Elisabeth's best friend, Caroline.   I can't wait to pick them up this afternoon and hear how their day went!

On our way to the first day of school.  Ansley is getting so tall!
Elisabeth loves this shirt.  It's a scratch and sniff.......the popsicle smells like strawberry.
Ainsley, Ansley and Elisabeth getting ready to walk into school on their first day.
Caroline and Elisabeth before heading down to their classrooms.  Unfortunatley they aren't in the same class.

Long lost pictures from my phone.....

We went to TJ Maxx one day and Ansley found this suitcase that she begged me to buy.  You wouldn't miss that thing coming around on the conveyor in baggage claim!

Oh dear....

Elisabeth likes a little bright bling bling too.

Picking blueberries this summer.  I'm the only one that eats them.  Oh well.....just means more for me.  They were yummy too.  :-)

Elisabeth practicing her split.  She's getting there.

Elisabeth celebrated her 5th birthday with a handful of friends at the gymnastics center.  It's what she really wanted to do.  The kids had fun and it was an easy birthday party for me since I didn't have to really do much but bring the cake and some snacks.

Happy 5th Birthday!

Today was Elisabeth's 5th birthday.   I can't believe she's 5 already!  She had ice cream for breakfast and then later in the day we went and painted pottery,  had ice cream again at the Peach Stand and then went to dinner at Red Bowl.  It's one of her favorite restaurants.  All in all it was a fun day.   Happy Birthday Elisabeth!

The day started out with ice cream for breakfast

Yum!

One of the birthday cards Elisabeth received.  It was right up her alley.
She decided step# 5 sounded like a good thing to do.......see picture below.

She received a pack of Skittles in the mail.  Thanks Sheryl and Mario!

Her new scooter

We spent the afternoon at the local pottery studio painting our own pottery.  She loves doing this!

My pottery looks good enough to eat!

Ansley painting her mug

Ansley painted a scene on her mug......it's a person walking dogs on nice blue sky kind of day.

She wrote her name and date on the bottom and even wrote Happy Birthday EE so we would remember why we painted it that day.  Good idea Ansley!

All of today's festivities wore her out!
