We had a scare over the weekend with our dog Belle. She ate something she shouldn't and got very very sick. (I'll spare you the gross details of what she ate) We had to rush her to the doggie emergency room and they had to keep her overnight and hook her up to IV's and do tests and give her medicine. Luckily she improved very quickly and was able to come home the next day. The kids were worried to death about her!
This is all she did after she got home. She slept and slept. We just had to step over and around her because she wasn't going to move. Poor puppy :-(

September is almost over
September is coming to a close and I realized I had a few more pictures that I never put on the blog. So here they are in no particular order.....
Our friends just returned from China this summer to bring sweet Jaidyn home. She came to visit us recently. She is such a cutie!
The girls enjoyed playing with her
Elisabeth's haircut. She got ALOT cut off. It looks so cute!
Ansley got a hair cut too. Not much length taken off but she got some short layers around her face. She really likes it.
This past weekend we participated in our neighborhood yard sale. The girls (and their friend Meg) sold drinks, cookies and brownies. They had fun doing it and made a good bit of money.
May I take your order please? (Elisabeth loves to dress up!)

Boosterthon Fun Run
The kids school recently had a Boosterthon Fun Run to raise money for the school. It's their big fundraiser for the year. Kids get pledges (per lap or flat donation) and then at the end of the week they run laps around a course on the playground area. The goal is 35 laps. Now these laps aren't laps around a huge football field or anything but for the kids they are a good size and 35 of them is definitely alot. Elisabeth ran in the morning so it was nice and cool outside. Ansley ran in the afternoon and it was hot!! They both managed to run 36 laps and had fun with the whole thing. The Boosterthon guys are crazy and fun and get the kids all excited. The school ended up raising $30,000 or so. I was impressed!
And she's off!
The Kindergarteners getting all fired up to run some laps
The Vice Principal made a bet with the kids and he lost so he had to wear something crazy. This is what he chose. It was hilarious! The kids thought it was sooo funny. He's a good sport for sure.
The Vice Principal doing a split.....kind of.
Modeling his beautiful attire
Elisabeth and her friend on walk with a friend lap.
She's in the home stretch. 36 laps is a lot for those little legs!
Here comes Ansley.......
Ansley and Ainsley on walk with a friend lap. It was hot and they had just dumped water on their heads.
I think I can.....I think I can.....
The Boosterthon guy trying to liven things up by doing some dance moves
Woo Hoo! She made it!

Labor Day - Hunting Island, SC
The beach at Hunting Island State Park Campground
Elisabeth really hasn't ridden a bike much... mainly her Big Wheel. This is the first time we brought her bike camping with us. She enjoyed riding all over the place!
Woo Hoo! Let's go ride the waves!
Playing in the water and sand. It's what I do best!
Ron riding the waves
Ansley catching a good wave
Our little place on the beach
The horseshoe crab we found while walking on the beach. I couldn't get him to come back to really shallow water so I could get a good picture of him.
The 2nd whole sanddollar we found. This one was alive though so Ansley wouldn't take it.
A cute crab
The sanddollars we found. Only one of them was whole.
Ansley thinks this is Santa Claus in disguise! HA HA HA!
Elisabeth's sand castle village
Ansley's sand drawing
Deer would come right up to our campsite. Ansley and Elisabeth fed them right out of their hands! Raccoons would also come around at night to see if there was any food they could get into.
Elisabeth riding her bike on the beach for the first time.
Ansley and Jan riding on the beach to see what treasures they can find.
Taking a bike ride.....no let me re-phrase that.....a LONG bike ride through the mosquito ridden forest.
And not only were there mosquitos in the forest......there were also banana spiders. I just can't tell you what I would have done if I had run into one of these webs while riding bikes. I would have had to go to therapy I can assure you.
The Hunting Island Lighthouse. John climbed to the top. The rest of us that took the LONG bike ride through the forest were too tired to climb to the top. We got ice cream instead.
View from the top of the lighthouse
View of the forest that we rode through. LONG bike ride.
The beach between the campground and the Lighthouse is filled with trees and driftwood.
Going to the campground via beach this time instead of forest.
Taking a break
Meeting Dad and Nancy in Beaufort and eating dinner at Luthers.
Playing on the playground down at the Beaufort waterfront. This thing spun round and round. I felt sick just watching it.
A beautiful Beaufort sunset
